DEX Imaging is thrilled to celebrate the impressive sixth-place finish by Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti (WTRAndretti) in the 2024 IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship (IWSC) season finale at the 10-hour MOTUL Petit Le Mans. This endurance race marked a season-best performance for the No. 45 DEX Imaging Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2, and we’re proud of the entire team for their hard work and determination.
Starting from fifth, Danny Formal showcased the team’s potential by immediately advancing through the field, reaching the podium positions in his first stint. Graham Doyle took over under a caution, managing to keep the car in contention despite some setbacks. His solid performance reflected his growth this season, which has been remarkable to witness. As the race wore on, Kyle Marcelli and Formal traded stints, consistently pushing the pace and tackling Road Atlanta’s demanding turns with skill and perseverance.
The team encountered challenges, including a drive-through penalty and a lengthy stint being one lap down. However, as the race entered its closing hours, a well-timed caution allowed the No. 45 car to regain the lead lap with just 20 minutes left. Formal took advantage, with the DEX Imaging pit crew executing a quick stop that put the team in prime position to fight for sixth. In the final minutes, he secured that spot, finishing on the lead lap in a grueling race where endurance and teamwork shone through.
“I’m really proud of the GTD program this weekend,” said Wayne Taylor, Team Principal of WTRAndretti. “Obviously, Petit Le Mans, a ten-hour race, is a very hard race. The team worked so well. All the drivers did a great job. Graham Doyle really sent the message that he’s meant to be in GTD now. I do think overall the relationship between WTRAndretti and Lamborghini is starting to gel, and I’m looking forward to next year.”
This season, the No. 45 DEX Imaging Lamborghini team has demonstrated resilience, including a pole position at Laguna Seca and two top-five finishes. We’re grateful to Danny, Kyle, and Graham for their dedication, and to Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti for giving us a thrilling first season in GTD.
As DEX Imaging looks ahead to the next season, we remain committed to supporting this incredible team. Congratulations to everyone involved in this season finale, and here’s to an even more successful 2025!
